Mourning Dove Spotting Nest

Photograph by Matt Blaze

May 22, 1999. Palo Alto, California. One week after the first birds left the porch, a second pair of mourning doves took over their nest, having apparently spotted it from a nearby tree.

Image taken on 35mm Kodak E100SW film under natural light with a Nikkor AF 300mm F/2.8 lens with TC14B teleconverter attached to a Nikon F4s camera body mounted on an Arca-Swiss B1 ball head atop Bogen 3221 tripod legs. Digitized with a Nikon LS-2000 film scanner and converted to JPEG with Adobe Photoshop 5.0.
