Cement Plant Ruins, Philadelphia.

Spring, 2005

Photos by Matt Blaze

Philadelphia is full of industrial ruins. This cement plant, about a mile south of the U. Penn campus on the Schuylkill river, must have once been a huge operation. It is also one of the most precarious places I have ever photographed. Support beams were missing and twisted, debris was falling from the upper floors, and water was dripping everywhere.

These images were taken with a Nikon D2X digital camera. Click the thumbnails for larger versions.
