American Padlock Bottom Pin
Serrated bottom pin (American Padlock).
Serrated pins tend to falsely set at the serrations
when picked. Many American-brand padlocks use serrations not
only on the top pins but on the bottom pins as well; this
makes picking "in reverse" especially difficult. These
locks are very difficult to pick. Note that American
uses smaller pins than most locks -- about .093
inches in diameter (most locks use .115 inch diameter
pins).
Image taken with a Nikon D-100 digital camera with the
85mm f/2.8 macro PC shift/tilt lens, attached to a PB-6
bellows and tripod mount. Note that this image is not
color-corrected.
